What it is
Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. A full denture replaces all teeth in one jaw. A partial denture fills in gaps when some teeth remain.
They’re made from acrylic resin, sometimes with a metal framework for partial dentures. Made to fit your mouth specifically, not off a shelf.
What to expect
Getting a denture takes several visits.
First visit: We take impressions of your mouth and record your bite. These go to the lab.
Try-in visit: A wax model comes back from the lab. You try it in, we check the fit and appearance, and make adjustments. This is your chance to say if anything feels off.
Delivery visit: The final denture comes in. We fit it, adjust as needed, and show you how to care for it.
Follow-up visits: Usually one or two, within the first few weeks, to fine-tune the fit as your mouth adjusts.
Does it hurt?
New dentures take some getting used to. They won’t feel natural at first — this is normal and temporary. Soreness in the first days is common while your gums adjust.
If soreness continues beyond a couple of weeks, come back. Pressure spots can be adjusted easily.
How long it takes
Usually 3–5 visits over 3–4 weeks, including the try-in and adjustment.
Cost
Starting from ₹4,000 — see full pricing.
Partial dentures cover a few missing teeth. Full dentures replace all teeth in one jaw. Acrylic dentures cost less; metal-reinforced partial dentures cost more but last longer. We’ll recommend what makes sense for your situation.
Who this is for
- Missing multiple teeth, but not a candidate for implants
- All teeth missing in one or both jaws
- Wanting a more affordable fixed solution than implants
- Existing denture that needs replacement (they wear out after 5–7 years typically)
Living with dentures
Most people adapt within a few weeks. Speaking and eating feel different at first — both improve as you adjust. Most patients eat and speak normally within a month.
Some things to know:
- Hard, crunchy food can be tricky at first
- Adhesive isn’t always needed if the fit is good
- Remove at night to let the gum tissue rest
- Clean them like teeth — but off your mouth, over a bowl of water
After the visit
Come back if the denture is rubbing a sore spot, feels loose, or has cracked. Don’t try to adjust it yourself — a small adjustment here takes us five minutes; an amateur adjustment can ruin the fit.
